In an effort to help employers understand the complexities of the Affordable Care Act, the IRS recently rolled out the ACA Information Center for Applicable Large Employers on IRS.gov. The resources provided in the Information Center aim to equip large employers with answers to common questions and tools to effectively meet the requirements of the ACA’s employer shared responsibility provisions. Included are a guide for employers to determine their status as an applicable large employer, details on employer reporting requirements to the IRS, trending topics, tax forms, and webinars.
The Information Center is intended to be an ongoing resource for large employers, but many more employers will benefit from the information provided – particularly the guide to determine status as a large employer going into 2016. Additionally, small employers that sponsor a self-insured medical plan can access helpful tips and instructions on the Section 6055 reporting that will come due early next year.
